ABOUT US
Young
Star Club (YSC) is a community based non-profit making,
non-political, non-religious, pure social organization established
two decades ago in a remote district Solukhumbu of Nepal, in the
shade of Mt. Everest. It was initiated in the form of a "Children's
Club", a platform for youth, children and others where they could
learn and act together. During its 25 years existence, YSC has
emerged as leading community-based organization in the district for
the assistance of local individuals and community development. There
are altogether 205 general members, 115 child members and 13 members
are elected in every 3 years as a Board of Executive Members for the
management of the organization.
- YSC is a well-established and capable organization with 205
committed members.
- It has its own two-story office building with playground,
conference hall, small
library and room for indoor games.
- It has communication facilities,
including telephone, fax and email.
- It has a regular source of income from its own flour mill, dry
fruit industry, iron
grill workshop and photocopy machine.

The members are trained in many areas such as PRA, Organizational
and project management, Partnering and Capacity Building, Project
Proposal and Report Writing Leadership development skill, Marketing
and income-generation, local level planning, micro hydro
electricity, electricity technician, auxiliary health worker, non-
formal education etc.
Legal Status
YSC is a registered NGO with HMG of
Nepal and Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu under the jurisdiction
of Social Welfare Council Act 2034.
Accountability
YSC has adopted its own accounts
system following the accounts procedures prepared by an experienced
and highly qualified auditor. We have a saving account in the
Rastrira Banijya Bank, Sallery by the signature of the Chairman and
Treasures.
